We despaired of having a decent curry in France until we found Packet Curry. They are an authentic taste of the Indian sub continent that you can achieve in your own home. The Butter Chicken is a delightful mixture which several friends have adored here in France, as French versions of the dish are so bland you wouldn't really call them a curry at all. As with all the mixes we always keep a kitchenful of them.

The main thing we missed when we came to live in France was a decent curry, then we found packetcurry.com. The butter chicken was one of the first I bought and was absolutely delicious. So much so that it is one of the packets I always keep in my cupboard for when the curry craving hits me.

For those who have had the indian contacts, Mrs Bector's curries probably just being mentioned tickle your taste buds, well these are even better. My brother and I go for easy curries (don't we all), but I'm a veggie and he's a meaty, we just split the packet and add what we prefer... then a big bowl of rice and a film and it's an ultimate curry night (especially with the butter chicken curry).

This Butter Chicken mix is just divine, gorgeously spicy but not overpowering. Full of flavour, it really has all the taste of a top class Indian restaurant! Add some large prawns at the end for a lovely mix of chicken and seafood - just delicious.....amazing that this flavour can come out of a packet!

I don't normally interfere in the kitchen. A traditional Englishman with a French wife would have to be very confident - which I am not. However, off my own bat, I ordered three curries to try out although I wasn't at all sure what i was ordering! My wife was somewhat scathing, but nevertheless bought the various ingredients - and contrary to all her instincts based on long experience, simply followed the directions.
